THE TRUTH ABOUT SEX DURING PREGNANCY (A MUST READ FOR EVERY COUPLE)

While some ladies are scared of having sex during pregnancy, others find it very satisfying. Except your doctor advises you otherwise, it is very safe to have sex until your water breaks!

Get Advice From Your Doctor: Having sex duringpregnancy is fun; but before you embark on the adventure, seek advice from your doctor. By so doing, you would be aware of any risks involved.

Professionally, doctors advise pregnant ladies to abstain from sex, if they have experienced the following:

1. Unexplained vaginal bleeding

2. Leakage of amniotic fluid

3. History of premature bleeding

4. Other medical conditions

Don’t Be Scared, Sex During Pregnancy Is Safe: Majority of individuals are of the opinion that, sex during pregnancy, would hurt the baby thereby leading to a miscarriage. This is very incorrect. The cervix of a woman acts as a barrier between her uterus and vagina; that is, it protects the baby from any harm during sexual intercourse.

Because of the function performed by the cervix, most ladies can have sex throughout pregnancy up to the day of delivery.

Sexual Pleasure Is Different During Pregnancy: Pregnancy increases blood flow to the pelvic area and there is a feeling of increased sensation in the clitoris during sexual intercourse. While many ladies find this pleasurable, others are totally uncomfortable with it. The following changes are also worthy of note:

1. A feeling of fullness after sex

2. Abdominal cramping after sex

3. Sore nipples

4. Increased vaginal discharge

Sexual Orgasm Can Cause Uterine Contractions: This kind of contraction can never lead to labour. However, if you experience it for the first time, you might get confused. So ladies, don’t avoid sex because of uterine contractions.
